What verification is and why it's needed
KYC verification ("Know Your Customer") is the process by which a bookmaker confirms that the account holder is a real person over 18 and that the payments genuinely belong to them. Licensed bookmakers are obliged to do this under anti-money-laundering rules, to prevent fraud and to protect minors.
Verification isn't always required at registration. It is most often requested in the following cases: on your first withdrawal, when withdrawing a large amount, when your payment details don't match your profile, or when the security system detects unusual activity. Having your documents ready in advance makes the withdrawal process much faster.
Which documents may be requested
| Document | Why | When it's requested |
|---|---|---|
| Passport or national ID card | To confirm identity and age | Almost always |
| Selfie with the document | To confirm that you are the document holder | In many cases |
| Proof of address (utility bill, bank statement) | To confirm where you live | At some bookmakers |
| Photo of the card or a bank statement | To confirm the payment method is yours | When there are questions about a card |
| Crypto wallet ownership | To show the wallet belongs to you | Rarely |
The exact list depends on the bookmaker and your situation; the request usually arrives in your profile or cashier section, or by email. Depending on your country, a national ID such as Aadhaar, NIN or a driving licence may be accepted — always check what the bookmaker asks for.
Step by step: passing verification
- Fill in your first name, last name and date of birth in your profile exactly as they appear on your document (in Latin letters, as in your passport).
- Open your profile or the "Documents" section and see which document types are requested.
- Photograph the document in good light so that the whole page fits in the frame.
- If a selfie is requested, hold the document next to your face so that both are clearly visible.
- Upload the files and track the status. The check usually takes from a few hours to a few days.
- If an additional request comes in, respond without delay.
Tips for passing on the first try
- A clear photo. Blurry, cropped or glare-affected photos are the most common reason for rejection.
- The whole document. All corners must be visible; don't cover any details with your fingers.
- An unedited file. Don't use filters, photo editing or the "enhance" features of scanner apps.
- Validity. Expired documents are not accepted.
- Matching details. The name in your profile, on your document and on your payment card must be the same.
- Card photo. If a photo of your card is requested, it is usually recommended to cover the middle digits and the CVV on the back — read the bookmaker's instructions.
Privacy and security
Only send your documents through the official upload form in your bookmaker account. Licensed operators are obliged to protect personal data, but you also need to be careful:
- Don't send documents via Telegram, WhatsApp or to unknown email addresses.
- Don't trust services that promise to "speed up verification" or "get you through without documents".
- Only use your own documents — verifying with someone else's document is fraud and leads to account closure.
Selfie and video verification
In recent years many bookmakers have replaced simple photos with "liveness" checks: the browser or app opens your camera and asks you to turn your head, smile or bring the document closer to the camera. Sometimes a short video call with an agent is scheduled. These processes exist to confirm that the document really belongs to you.
- Choose a bright, evenly lit room; don't sit with a window behind you.
- Remove glasses, hats and face masks so your whole face is visible.
- Have the original document ready — a picture on a screen or a photocopy is not accepted.
- Make sure you have a stable internet connection and clean your phone camera.
- Follow the on-screen instructions without rushing.
If the camera doesn't work, give your browser camera permission or try the bookmaker's mobile app. During a video call, the agent will never ask for your card PIN, CVV or SMS code — if they do, end the call.
If verification is rejected
The reason for rejection is usually stated in the message: photo quality, mismatched details or the document type. Fix the issue and upload again. If the reason isn't clear, ask support exactly what you need to send. For card-related questions, also see the tips in our Visa/Mastercard guide or, for players in Uzbekistan, the Uzcard guide. The process is similar at Mostbet and other bookmakers. Bookmaker reviews are on our main site; promo code for registration: XBUNKER.
